In 2013, Kim's son started having seizures. Her son enjoyed parties but was unable to drink due to his seizures. When he did drink, he had seizures. Kim wanted her son top know that drinking wasn't a requirement to have fun but soon after realized how hypocritical it was because of her drinking. To prove a point to her son, she stopped drinking for 3 months and didn't find it so difficult. She went another three months and found herself happier than she had been in a while. She now has been sober for 9 years and it has changed her outlook on life for the better and has improved both her physical and mental well-being.
As our show promotes highness but by finding it clean, Kim reiterates how cool it is. I have had many friends die from either overdose, or heart attacks directly related to meth use. Not cool. Myself; getting arrested 10 times in my life, getting knocked out causing an AVM or lesion in my brain while drunk, having multiple seizures with one while driving 70 miles an hour down the freeway and accumulating multiple head injuries. Not cool. My last guest who took ecstasy for the first time was in a coma for two months, had multiple strokes and now has permanent damage that affects her speech, balance, and recently starting having seizures. Not cool. I started this show because I always found those people who were determined to convince themselves that life is going to suck sober. No fun, and no pleasure.
As I have said before, highness is not a property of drugs but of people. You do not get high on drugs, you get high on things you possess. Getting high clean. No side effects. You don’t have to kick. Go through withdrawals and deal with major depression when you run out. You get to achieve your goals, dreams, visions, passions and find true excitement in life. That is cool.
